The Bikaver is blend of old vine indigenous grapes - 46% Kékfrankos from 40 year old vines and 8% Kadarka from 70 year old vines, both from the Iván Valley, alongside 23% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Merlot. It is aged for 23 months in Hungarian and French oak barrels so develops complex coffee and spice flavours. The wine also has a wonderfully savoury edge with notes of red cherry and cranberry.
